I remember when I was just starting out and felt like a sad little lost puppy trying to track down what I needed, how to buy it, and what I should spend while diving into the world of sex work. It's scary, and it takes a long time to figure out exactly what works for you.
I have friends who take a suitcase full of supplies outside, while I prefer a simple crossbody bag packed with some essentials. It is important to keep in mind that the type of work you do will affect the number of supplies you need.
Look, it took years and years before I bought my first designer bag. My advice? Don't get into debt to buy a fancy handbag. I started with the Kmart bag until I built and bought some very expensive pieces that I love.
Some of the things I wish I knew when starting out: Your possessions, appearance, or online presence do not define who you are or your potential for success. I know it's easy to look at the glossy photos of "successful" escorts wearing Louboutin and you feel you need to keep up.
In my experience, Louboutin bags and designer handbags are not what will earn you money. Don't get caught up in the hype of the accompanying social media. If a designer bag is your craving, work for it. But it doesn't feel like it's something you need to be successful.
With that said, this is my ultimate outdoor bag. It contains three separate compartments which mean I can separate my supplies.
Cardholder, keys and phones He goes without saying. I know some sex workers prefer to leave any identification (like credit cards and driver's license) at home when they go to Foreign Service Centers, but that's not something I do personally. Most of the time I drive outside. If parking was difficult or I had a glass of wine or two with dinner, I'd take an Uber instead.
lip balm I never wear lipstick, but I carry a lip balm with me wherever I go. Click, but Lucas Paw is my favourite.
Hand cream Useful for refreshing after showering. My favourite is the resurrection of Aesop.
Comb, hair tie and bobby pins So I could leave the hotel minus the sex hair. The condom In 3 sizes, because it's important to be prepared! I prefer non-latex condoms where possible, as I find it less irritating. I use Skyn Original and Large. For a little condom, I use the Four Seasons Naked Closer - I haven't yet found an affordable non-latex alternative! I'll take between three to five of each size, depending on the length of the reservation.
lubricant I am using 100ml Pjur Aqua Personal Lubricant for outdoor flushes. It has a screw cap so it won't leak and it's small enough to fit a crossbody bag. Pjur can also be purchased online from Condom Sales.
Diaper bags You can get them at the supermarket for a few bucks for a jumbo package. I carry one or two with me when called. The condom in the toilet is harmful to the environment, and you can smell the condom in the trash. The solution? Nappy bags!
tissues A small pack of wet wipes is essential, especially if you run out of time (or don't want to shower) before leaving.
Optional: vibrator If a customer asks me to bring some toys, Tango by We-Vibe is for me. It's incredibly compact and easy to fit in a small bag.
